Our Suppliers

We make a commitment to grow our own herbs and produce where we can. Produce from our kitchen garden is supplemented by regional and local ingredients grown using sustainable practices. This ethos inspires our chefs who are respectful of the produce they work with, appreciate its exceptional taste and quality, and are proud to prepare it for you to enjoy.

Our chefs are dedicated to sourcing local produce from nearby farms and surrounding districts to Brisbane as well as being actively involved in supporting growers, farmers markets and food festivals in South East Queensland.

Seasonality is central to the menu at Wild Canary, and subsequently changes as the availability and variety of produce varies throughout the year.

With a team of horticulturalists on hand in the nursery and working in the kitchen garden, means that the chefs and staff have a burgeoning knowledge of which  fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers are growing best in our climate throughout the year, as well as being able to trial and test many new and heritage varieties to create unique and exciting new dishes for the bistro.

We’re passionate about supporting our local food industry, and now run a program of sell out ‘Producer’s Lunches’ monthly.  These lunches are centered around a specially designed menu featuring produce from one, or a select number of producers that we regularly use within the Bistro.  Previous lunches have featured, Talari Trotters Pork, Eggcettera Eggs, Lime Caviar, Coolmunda Olives, Aussie Freshwater Crays and Barambah Wines to name a few. For information on upcoming producers lunches visit our events page.

We were recently listed in the Top 10 cafes for Breakfasts in Brisbane in the Good Food Guide.
